Inquiry — The Director's Chair

What is already directing usbefore we decide, act, or speak?

Over time, I became interested in the patterns and assumptions that can shape how we understand a situation before we make a decision.

Inquiry

Some are familiar. Others are so automatic that we do not notice them until they affect how we communicate, respond to pressure, handle conflict, or make a choice.

That inquiry became The Director's Chair, a book and workshop about recognizing what may already be influencing us before we act.

The book

The book introduces a way of noticing familiar patterns in communication, responsibility, conflict, and decision-making.

Participants read it before the workshop, giving them time to consider the ideas privately and connect them with their own experience.

The workshop

The workshop brings those questions into a shared setting.

Participants use real situations to examine how they communicate, make decisions, handle conflict, relate to customers, and respond under pressure.

The book introduces the inquiry. The workshop gives people a place to work with it together.

Current status

The manuscript is a complete substantive draft and is being prepared for independent editorial assessment.

The first pilot workshop is planned for Winter 2026–27.
